Suck it

So, I have a bit of a secret...well, it's not really a secret, but it has a kinky quality added to it I suppose when one is writing about it on a sex blog. But as Halloween is coming up I thought I'd share...

I totally love vampires.

Don't get me wrong here, not the "real" vampires who, depending on what you're reading about them, may be "energy vampires" or maybe porphyriacs, or really any number of things that when combined sort of create a comprehensive picture of vampire folklore.

See, there is a part of me who really will only ever border on the world of atheism (meaning, I will always be agnostic...but closer to an atheist than identifying with any one religion) because I believe a little bit in the truth of folklore and magic. I also want to believe in magic, so I can't push myself into the bit of callousness that comes with atheism (from my perspective). Plus, who doesn't believe that at least some of those ghost shows on TV have actual footage of ghosts?! My friend, Paige, used to (and probably still does) see them.

Sorry, off topic.

Outside of a bit of playful biting, the whole erotic vampiric sensibilities don't appeal to me. Blood doesn't make me pass out, but I'm not particularly comfortable with it either. However, this does not explain my utter delight with films and television series on vampires. The new HBO series, "True Blood"? LOVE it. Not to mention, it's based on a bunch of romantic mystery books, which I think is just delightful. I was a total "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fan (movie and TV series), to the point that I discovered Claddagh rings and have worn one ever since I was about sixteen. My parents bought a beautiful one for me (which you can see in my last HNT). Even the worst vampire movies (except the comedies--I don't like comedic vampires, unless they are sort of accidentally or ironically comedic) are fabulous to me. They are really the only horror movies I love (well, those and werewolves--"Underworld" was funtabulous), because all other ones freak me out BIG time.

I don't know what it is about vampires--probably the virility, the bad-boy, brooding, sexiness that comes along with most of them. Downfall? They tend to look a little anemic. :-)

Oddly enough, the one thing I have never read on vampires is romance novels, but I think I'm ready to remedy that quite soon. I'm not even sure why. I've read every damned other thing about vampires. I even wrote a paper on vampiric folklore and its effect on pop culture over the years (really, at least since Bram Stoker wrote Dracula). I was a senior in high school when I wrote that, and I aced the thing. It was a long ass paper (at least 10 pages seemed long at the time), but it was actually one of my favorite papers to write. I got away with a lot of stuff in that class actually. That's the class for which I wrote a paper on pornography too (my teacher read the beginning to a colleague of hers who said, "This girl is how old?" It was a proud moment in my life *grins*).

Vampires have always held that fascination for me, maybe it's that fairytale feeling--but with the bad boy instead of the prince. Either way, we all need a little magic in our life...especially at Halloween. ;-)

Suddenly it seems there are so many bestselling books out right now with vampires as the subject. I think one is "Twilight"? Supposed to be a movie soon too I heard. As for me...no way. I'll have nightmares.

I love to suck, but not for blood. And I prefer vaginas to necks!
